Mike Sands
Mike’s railroad career started as a Laborer in 1981 with Transco Pacific in Seattle, Washington, where he was quickly promoted to Foreman and then Superintendent by 1985. From 1987 to 1989, he served as a Field Superintendent for all crews at Sharp & Fellows, Inc., of Los Angeles – a railroad construction company specializing in building, maintaining, and demolishing railroad track. Over the next 12 years, Mike served as Operations Manager for various railroad construction firms, until 2001 – when he established West Rail Construction, LLC. He served as President of West Rail Construction, LLC, until February of 2024 and currently serves as the Area Manager for American Track’s Vancouver, Washington, location, servicing the Northwestern part of the United States.
