Daniel is a second-generation railroader. His engineering career began with Norfolk Southern in July 1991. He started as a laborer on a Rail Transposing Gang and worked his way up to a foreman and track inspector. Daniel left Norfolk Southern in 2000 to pursue other interests but remained attached to the rail industry through independent consulting work, inspections, and minor maintenance and repair work. In 2010, he returned to full-time railroad contracting and was assigned to Mobile, AL, as a Superintendent. In 2012 Daniel was relocated to Amarillo, TX, as an Area Manager and served in that role until joining the American Track team in April 2019 as the Area Manager for the Panhandle Region, based in Pensacola, FL.
