Manager

Mark Snyder

Mark started his railroad career early in life in 1976 as a Plasser Tamper equipment operator/maintainer working for transits, short lines, and other contractors traveling the US and working his way up to field supervisor. In 1989, Mark accepted the Operations Manager position for the Railroad Construction Company in their railroad equipment and construction division in North Carolina developing specialized equipment for the rail industry and creating a market for the rail construction maintenance industry. In 1995, Railroad Construction moved that operation back to New Jersey. Mark chose to remain in North Carolina, starting Dirtworks as a small grading/rail contractor. Mark saw the large potential for a quality railroad contractor in the central Carolinas area, so in 2010, he started Dirtworks/Rail serving the industrial side of the Rail industry 24/7 which developed into one of the highest quality rail contractors in North Carolina. In 2021, Mark, along with Dirtworks/Rail, joined forces with American Track to launch our North Carolina location. Mark enjoys the outdoors and is very active in his community, married to his wife Beth they have 2 fun-loving bird dogs Ziva & Butler.
