Petroleum Client

New Jersey

One of the few facilities able to receive and offload unit trains in the NJ/NY metro area.

This American Track client was looking for a way to expand their New Jersey facility to handle unit trains of crude oil. A multitude of issues hampered the site, including contaminated soils, a public road bisecting the facility, various conflicting structures and utilities, and service and logistical issues surrounding the ability for Conrail/NS forces to be able to deliver and remove a unit train. American Track worked through various scenarios to develop a suitable plan for the overall site layout. American Track performed all site work and grading, track construction, oversaw the installation of all offloading equipment, and coordinated modifications to existing and installation of new utilities. American Track also took the lead to privatize the existing public road and existing crossing and implemented an emergency notification system between the customer, the railroad, and emergency responders.

This client’s facility is one of the few facilities able to receive and offload unit trains in the NJ/NY metro area. American Track continues to work with this client to perform regularly scheduled track inspections/maintenance, as well as perform the in-plant railroad and product offloading operations
